Arizona Horseman's Challenge 2013

Verde Valley Equine Festival 2014
April 4, 5 & 6

The Rio Verde Roverettes have racked up another winning year. And, even though there were ď1st and 2ndĒ victories, it was clear to see that each and every participant was a champion of their own right.

The second annual Arizona Horsemanís Challenge, featuring 5 Arizona trainers from 5 Arizona regions, boasted amazing techniques and skills, in thrilling competition. Congratulations to 1st place winner Thomas Clover of Tucson and 2nd place winner Sara Phillips Boland of Cottonwood.

The first annual Cowgirl Spirit Award, sponsored by Lana Brackmanís Riding on Heartstrings, was designed to honor the individual nominated by, and voted for by her peers as an outstanding and innovative horse woman for the 2014 season. The winner was Sara Phillips Boland, already earning an exceptional weekend of applause.

The event was sponsored by the likes of Oxendale Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Purina and Corral Kraft. During the event, Oxendale generously offered the use of 9 of their Dodge Ram trucks to present each of the Arizona Horsemanís Challenge participants, judges and junior mentors each day.

The Verde Valley Equine Festival promised to offer everything for the Arizona horse lover and this year they truly delivered with equestrian focused vendors and the stateís top selection of horse clinicians, replete with extraordinary resumes. Exhibitions were equally as impressive featuring mounted shooting, mounted archery, Hot Rods Rodeo Drill Team, the Arizona Rangers Mounted Unit, Connections Equine Therapy and Back Country Horsemen of Central Arizona, to name a few.

Thank you as well to the following sponsors: Lazy M Horses, Corral Kraft, Lakin Milling Company, Bingham, Creations in Thread, Star Milling, Joyce Tanner Photography, Busich Vineyards, Cornville Mercantile, The Stock Shop, Sanders Ranch Supply, and Bandalero Ranch.

There were also many volunteers, so greatly appreciated, that helped to make this yearís event a tremendous success.
